Butter Mafia
previous post
I think I’ll let the picture do the talking on this post. Can you believe these treats are gluten free? But I can 100% guarantee you wouldn’t know it. My parents and friends have brought them before not even realising I could eat them too. So they’re for everyone to enjoy, not just for those of us with Coeliac Disease or gluten intolerance. They’re handcrafted right here in Melbourne by Kenn Chia and are all criminally delicious. I think what I love most about them is the names, Kenn quit his job as a criminal lawyer to start up Butter Mafia so the names are inventive, but the flavours do all the talking.
The slices from top left down and across:
The Mob Wife – flavourful raspberry pate (jam) on rich, decadent chocolate mud cake.
The Mistress – Tangy lemon curd on a butter vanilla biscuit, laced with shredded coconut.
Bad Boy Brownies – roasted almond choc chunk brownies.
Black Widow – dark chocolate and coffee caramel on a delicious black velvet brownie (think silky smooth).
Mafia Darling – pink salted caramel layered on a buttery biscuit and topped with tempered white chocolate.
The Don – a caramel slice but 10x better, loaded with roasted hazelnut, on a chewy brownie and topped with smooth ganache.
Plus they’re surrounded by the Henchmen Cookies – a peanut butter and choc chunk cookie that is both chewy and crunchy.
The most important part where can you get your hands on these! They sell directly through their website which is perfect for Melbourne right now (we’re still in a COVID lockdown if you’re reading this in the future). Delivery is available Melbourne wide and free if you’re within 5km of Northcote. Now a close up of some of my favourites.
