Hi and welcome to my little gluten free blog. I’m Katherine a 31 year old dietitian (APD) and nutritionist who loves to bake. I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease (gluten free) when I was 19 years old in my first year of university. At the time I was studying to be a Veterinarian (you might have seen Nelly my dog in some of my instagram posts). I felt sick constantly and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. After two years of doctors visits I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. And ever since then I’ve been on this gluten free journey!
Initially being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease was tough. I had to figure out how to bake minus the gluten, eat out while avoiding cross contamination and find out which gluten free products are edible. I started sharing my finds on instagram @gfgirlmelb in 2015 to help others on the gluten free journey. I also started studying to be a dietitian, which graduated from in June 2019, to help other people on this gluten free journey. I currently work in a hospital as a dietitian which I really enjoy, but might venture out to private practice one day too.
I’ve started this blog to share recipes, eating out and product recommendations and some nutrition advice too. I hope I can help make this gluten free journey easier for you!
